Ramesh has over 22 years of corporate experience in the financial services industry across India, US and Netherlands in functions ranging from operations, human resources, fund management, corporate strategy and governance. He holds a B.Tech. degree from India, an MBA from Kelley School of Business, USA and a CFA charter from USA.
Passionate about the potential of social enterprises to address social and environmental issues, Ramesh returned to India in 2013 at the peak of his corporate career to launch Anantha Charitable Trust dedicated to promoting sustainability by building social enterprises and developing local entrepreneurs. Trying his hand at sustainable farming, he realized that what the organic farmers need is a fair and reliable market. That led in 2015 to the founding of "Bio Basics" a social enterprise dedicated to sustainable food and farming. Today, Bio Basics touches the lives of hundreds of farmers and consumers, while empowering entrepreneurial youngsters to manage its daily operations.

Devi has over 14 years of corporate experience, followed by over 12 years of social work with various NGOs both domestic and international. Devi holds a BA in Economics and an MS in Sociology from University of Louisville, USA.
As an food and environmental activist, Devi has been actively working with the Coalition for a GM (Genetically Modification)-free India to prevent the launch of GM foods in India. She has also co-founded "Urban Leaves" in Mumbai to promote terrace gardening. She is presently an Advisor to a Foundation that provides assistance to NGOs working on sustainability. An Advisor to Thanal based in Thiruvananthapuram, Devi is a consultant for the "Save Our Rice" campaign across 5 States committed to conserving hundreds of traditional rice varieties.
Devi has published several articles on the issue of safe food and sustainable farming. A keen farmer herself, she enjoys interacting with organic farmers and oversees the operations team at Bio Basics.
Jayaprakash Thondiyil, after graduation in Physics joined Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai and started his career as a scientist. With the rich experience he gained, he became an entrepreneur developing and manufacturing custom built equipment for research . He is instrumental in developing many import substitution products in the field of Nanotechnology, Solar Energy, Laser Technology, Analytical Instrumentation etc.
After more than 40 years of his entrepreneurship and service, he is settled in Coimbatore involved in social work. He is Secretary, Chinmaya Mission, Coimbatore, Secretary, Vadavalli NSS and office bearer of many other social organizations.
Jayaprakash is a laughter yoga practitioner and conducts this unique activity for various organizations to promote
positive attitudes and healthy well being.

Cdr S Lakshmanan Iyer (Retd)
Lakshmanan holds a BTech degree in Aeronautical Engineer from IIT Bombay, but, on joining the Indian Navy, converted to a Naval Architect. He has served for 21 years in the Navy with experience in various roles as diverse as management, teaching and R&D.
Right from his initial Service days, he has been passionate about environmental issues. Exposure to Masanobu Fukuoka's "The One Straw Revolution" got him interested in Organic Agriculture, which has stayed as a passion ever since.
After opting for premature retirement from the Navy, he spent four years as a volunteer at Isha Foundation, Coimbatore, initially teaching organic food gardening to children of Isha Home School, and subsequently facilitating setting up an organic farm for the Foundation.
After spending two years promoting and Eco-friendly wastewater management system developed & patented by IIT Bombay, called Soil Biotechnology, he has joined Bio Basics since 2016. He presently handles Sales & Marketing for the venture.
Engineering graduate, but an Organic farmer. Trained to spread the good word among farmers. Responsible for sourcing and quality. Quietly pushing his agenda despite the noisy ladies around!
Mass Communciations graduate. Responsible for operations. Juggling multiple functions, not without making much noise though!

Commerce graduate. Responsible for business control. The most excited of the group, too excited to remember anything!
