Bora Saul, sticky rice of Assam, from our farmer in Kaveri Delta. A few years back when he travelled to meet seed savers in Eastern India he got a little seed, grew it and aged it. He milled it this year. There are many varieties in Bora Saul, however, we don't know which particular one this is. But it has a sticky texture and is great for making sticky rice preparations like sushi, rice pudding & risotto as well as table rice. Cook Instructions - cook with 1:2 water ratio in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles or in an open vessel. This medium-grained, raw rice has a chalky texture (distinctive characteristic of many sticky rices) and broken are natural in this kind of soft rice.It is traditionally used in Assam for making pithas.
