The Story

Gobindo Bhog Fragrant Rice, also known as Jeeraga Samba or Seeraga Samba rice, hails from West Bengal, India. This special rice variety delights the senses with its enticing aroma and delicious, slightly nutty flavour. Grown without chemicals, Gobindo Bhog rice is a testament to the farmers' dedication to sustainable practices, ensuring a healthy product for both consumers and the environment.

Gobindo Bhog rice is sourced from two main locations: a cooperative of farmers committed to organic cultivation and a single farm following the same principles. Despite the removal of the outer bran layer for its distinct aroma and texture, Gobindo Bhog retains its nutritional value, offering a delightful culinary experience.

When cooked, Gobindo Bhog rice fills your kitchen with a delightful fragrance. Its fluffy texture and exquisite taste set it apart. Opting for organic Gobindo Bhog rice not only enriches your dining experience but also supports environmental sustainability.

Storage

  • Keep your Organic Gobindo Bhog Rice in a cool, dark place.
  • Store the Gobindo Bhog Rice in an airtight container.
  • FIFO - follow a first-in, first-out (FIFO) method. This ensures you're consuming the older rice first and prevents any newer rice from sitting around for too long.

How to Cook

  • Wash the rice: Put the rice in a bowl and rinse it with cold water until the water looks clear. This helps clean it.

  • Optional step: Soak the rice: You can soak the rice in water for about 30 minutes. This can make it cook better, but you don't have to do this if you're in a hurry.

  • Cooking the rice:

    • Put 2 cups of water in a pot and let it boil.

    • Once it's boiling, add the washed rice. You can add a little salt if you like.

    • Stir it gently, then turn down the heat to low. Cover the pot with a lid and let it cook for 15-20 minutes. Keep an eye on it so it doesn't overflow.

    • After 15-20 minutes, check the rice. It should be soft, and there shouldn't be any water left. If it's still a bit hard or there's water left, keep cooking it for a bit longer.

  • Fluff the rice: Take the pot off the heat and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, use a fork to gently stir the rice. This helps separate the grains.

  • Serving: Serve the rice hot with your favourite dishes.

Unsatisfactory

I have wasted my money on this order. I bought huge quantity of rice thinking it will be the same quality as my previous orders. No one in the family likes this rice- and yes we have cooked it many different ways.
