The Story
Bio Basics organically grown, naturally processed jaggery is sourced from two farms near Bhavani in the outskirts of Coimbatore. The farm is third-party organic certified ensuring the highest quality standards. The farmer family cultivates it's own sugarcane and processes it exclusively in the farm itself.
Every 2-3 months, freshly harvested sugarcane is crushed to extract juice, which is then boiled in large vats over wood or sugarcane bagasse fire. This process, requiring effort, patience, and skill, results in chemical-free Jaggery. It involves considerable skill as the hot liquid has to be ladled to make balls using cloth and hands .

Preservation Use jaggery as a natural preservative in pickles and chutneys, enhancing flavour and extending shelf life. Its sweetness also helps balance the acidity of these preserved foods.
